Sorting files in a folder in the Project explorer

Hello,
Can someone tell me if there is a trick to order files in my folders in the Project explorer ? I don’t understand how there are sorted by default.
Thank you for your help (my Gams Studio release is 1.16.3).
Kind Regards.
Fabrice

Hi,

There is no way to sort the files manually. The Project Explorer uses an alphabetic sorting. On the first level it sorts by project name, below that by folder name (if there are files in different folders within a project) and last by file name.

Hope that helps,
Lutz

Hi Lutz,
Than you for your reply.
I agree with you, it seem’s that project names and folder names are alphabetically sorted. Unfortunately, that’s not the case for files inside folders where the sorting is completely random.
A sorting in the order that files are called by the main file could be very practical !

Thanks for providing more info here! I did not realize that before, but now after getting pointed to this and doing some experiments, it looks like files in a folder get sorted in the order they get added to a project. This is a bug and should get fixed. I’ll add it to our todo list.

Best,
Lutz
