problem with gdxxrw.exe

Hi everybody!

I’m trying to call a gams model from matlab, but every time I execute the the gams command (routine?), I get the " gdxxrw.exe has stopped working" error.
The model reads the data from excel files(xls not xlsx) and I run the model within the gams IDE just fine!

Any suggestion what the problem might be?

Thanks in advance

Babak

Dear Babak Y,
This problem is occurs due to improper path setting between GAMS and MATLAB in your computer.
So set the path as follows:

  1. Go to computer properties
  2. Open System Advanced setting
  3. Then go to environment variables
  4. Search path in the system variables and press edit
  5. Then in the variable value type semicolon ; and copy link of your installed GAMS software
    (e.g. C:\GAMS\win32\24.0)

After setting path rerun your program in MATLAB…enjoy…

Hi,
I also had the same problem and tried the solution you mentioned below. I’m still getting the same error. I added both the path to my GAMS folder and to the MATLAB folder. Is there something else that I’m missing? The code runs perfectly within GAM IDE. The exact error is:

“gdxxrw.exe has stopped working – A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program.”

Thoughts?

Thanks, J

For months my Gams and GDX was running perfect, now I have the same error. Did you find the solution?

I also unistalled and installed again… And still the same problem.
