The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is seeking a Trade Modeller to join its Analysis, Data and Modelling Division (ADM) within the Trade and Agriculture Directorate (TAD). The successful candidate will use the GAMs based, global CGE trade model METRO to conduct trade policy analyses, offering insights and policy recommendations. This position provides an excellent opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic international team working on pressing global economic issues.
The Trade Modeller will contribute to the development and maintenance of the METRO model and associated databases, undertake empirical analysis, and produce analytical studies to inform policy makers. Key responsibilities include modelling trade and agricultural policies, drafting research reports, and supporting technical operations of the METRO model. The role also involves capacity building, engaging in workshops, and liaising with global experts and stakeholders. Qualified candidates should have an advanced degree in applied economics or political sciences, at least three years of experience in quantitative trade analysis, and proficiency in GAMS, Excel, and Python. Experience in an international setting and familiarity with economic databases is highly advantageous.
