Initial points for (CONOPT) solver in GAMS

Dear All,

I have rum my MINLP model in GAMS.The CONOPT solver is selected for optimize my model. The model has run and got results. But my problem is , The solution obtained from the NLP solver used (CONOPT) highly depends to the initial points. Please, guide me how find the initial point that the solver is considered ? and how can choose the best initial point and change in my model before start solving ?

I am fully appreciated for your kind reply.

Regards

Mehrdad

Dear Mehrdad Tahmasebi,

Assigning feasible values to the variables which does not violate given constraint may be one way to decide initial points. Initialize binary variables also and check that variables which depend upon them are assigned to satisfy equation given.

best of luck
