We just upgraded to v31.1 from 25.1. Everything seemed to work out well, except when I go to run the IDE, I get the message shown in the picture below. I read the related release log note: “The gams.exe and gamskeep.exe programs on 64-bit Windows are now native 64-bit executables. Because of some technical requirements related to the Interrupt functionality, the IDE invokes GAMS via the new 32-bit program gams32.exe.”
Does this mean that on versions newer than 29, we can’t stop model runs in the IDE? If so, can you please suggest a workaround. The ability to stop is critical for debugging the models we are working with.
Hi
This might be caused by Windows Defender who puts gams32.exe into quarantine (which happened on my Windows computer. I reported it as false positive two weeks ago).
You have to go to the quarantine and tell Defender that this is not a threat.

Thanks for the fast response Renger, however this does not seem to be the case. I checked windows defender, and it is empty. Upon digging deeper, I see that the gams32.exe file isn’t present in my distribution. Note I downloaded this directly from this link: https://www.gams.com/download/
Hi
As you seem to have Windows Defender (WD), I am almost 100% sure, that this is the problem. Reinstall GAMS but do not run GAMS afterward. Go to the settings of Windows Defender and exclude either the folder or the file from the scan. Start GAMS and closely check your Windows Defender icon/message.
Cheers
