Forbidden zone in decision variables

Dear all

I have the problem whose decision variables include forbidden zone. In
other words, its decision variables shouldn’t situate in some areas
such as x1<x<x2 , x3<x<x4. How I can model it in GAMS (except mixed
integer method)?
Thanks in advance

Hello
Thanks for your email. May I know what are x1, x2 ,x3 and x4? Are they scalar/parameters or they are variables?

Dear Mohammad

x1,x2,x3 and x4 are parameters (constant) and x is variable.
Thank you for your reply.

my objective function has a power 1/2 and i dont know how show it in gams and my code is
sum(j,((2bhl)**(0.5)(sum((i,r),y(i,j,r)(1-q)(qu(r))))(0.5)))
