Multiple solve statement

Dear all,
I found an explanation:https://www.gams.com/help/index.jsp?topic=%2Fgams.doc%2Fuserguides%2Fmccarl%2Fprograms_with_multiple_solve_statements.htm
But if soneone could explain to me better what does it mean to use multiple solve statements and then obtain an optimal solution would be awesome
Thanks,
Veronica

Veronica,

The McCarl guide describes multiple solve statements when solving different models or the the same model with different data. What you describe are mutliple solves of the same model. You should get the same result with any of the solves. Sometimes with NLP models that are not well scaled or have other problems, a repeated solve might get you somewhere with the model, but it would be better to work on the numerics/scaling/… to get the the result the very first time. This is all we can recommend without having seen the model.

Hope this helps,

Dear Michael,

thank you very much for your reply.
Ok, now I got it. If I have other problems I will post the model or part of it, to let you better understand. By the way in this case I will try to work on the numerics/scaling to get the optimal solution the first time.

Bests,

Veronica
