Kind help!

Dear friends,


When i use

$libinclude xlexport cp.l myspread.xls output3!a1

i get error now but afternoon I got the answer in xls file. i got confused what’s wrong happened. I do not changed anything in program.


Error Messages


409 Unrecognizable item - skip to find a new statement
looking for a ‘;’ or a key word to get started again


Any idea?

Hi Mukund

It sounds like you have forgotten a semicolon before this line.

You can check the code before this line by adding a line beginning with $exit

See if it runs without errors until the $exit line.

When I give the $ libinclude command. it gives normal completion, but i’m not able to see any xls output.Could anyone please help m

Dear jyo,

Suppose ur syntext is as above:

$libinclude xlexport cp.l myspread.xls output3!a1

after as you said normal completion of prg, had you checked file named “myspread.xls” in mydocument folder- gamsdir?

if not pl have a look.

Hi Jyo



It is hard to say what is wrong without seeing your complete code. I suppose you have made an error before this line (forgot a semicolon or something like that).

Although xlexport and xlimport are great tools, it might be better to change to gdxxrw as it has much more features.
