intemediate result from GAMS

Hi everyone,

I want to keep all the results with 5%, 3%, 1% gap in one lst file. Is it possible?

Besides, is it possible that I get the result with 5% to see the result, then I continue the program to solve with lower gaps using existing node information?

P.S. It is a MILP problem.

Best,
Kailiang

Dear Kailiang,

@1: well, yes, that’s not so hard, set the option optcr to 0.05, solve the model, reset it to 0.03, solve …
@2: you can print/save the result after solving a problem. See McCarls GAMS user guide for more details (search term: GDX)

Kind regards,
Henry Vermue

Hi Henry Vermue,

Thank you for your reply. GDX is a god idea to save results.

But for the first problem, what I mean is that I want to continue solving problem with previous solution. For example, the time for this problem solved with 3% gap is 5 hours, whereas the time for 5% is 1 hour. If I solve the problem with 5% gap first, then solve with 3% gap. the time for 3% gaps is still 5 hours, not 5-1=4 hours. which means it make no sense to solve with 5% gap first.

Best,
Kailiang
