Heap limit

Hi,

Does anybody know if there is a way to allow GAMS to us more memory than the heap limit allows? Whenever i try to run my model I allays get the same error message:

*** Out of Memory in New or GetMem.
*** Out of Memory while executing line 1703
*** HeapLimit = 1E20 HeapSize = 3779.36844
Exit code = 10

I figure there might be a way to free memory that isn’t being used anymore, or store some of the parameters/variables in the permanent memory?

Help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Magnus



I assume you are using a 32-bit version of GAMS. If you have a 64-bit operating system then you can change to a 64-bit version of GAMS (covered by the same license) and you should be able to work with more memory.
