gams-to-excel preferred way to extract results?

Hello all:

I am a bit lost on the multiple ways to extract results from GAMS
results -
GDXXRW, XLexport, Put files, GDXDump, etc.

I would like to know the efficacy of this procedure: Would you
prescribe this? Do you have any other alternative that could be
simpler and informative?

Create a GDX file in GAMS-IDE (by typing GDX = Results in the upper
right hand corner box).
Then right-clicked to extract ALL results to Excel or HTML.
Is that a good, comprehensive method? Please let me know. What is your
preferred method?

Thanks

Hi Subbu

I usually send my results to the gdx file and then use gams code to send
everything to excel with gdxxrw. I do not like opening the gdx file and then
use a lot of mouse clicks to send it to excel. Using gams solves the export
automatically and very fast.
In the earlier days I used the xlimport/xlexport utilities by Tom
Rutherford, but the export utility is very slow compared to the gdxxrw
utility.
Cheers
Renger
