‘ord(i)’ stands for the ordinal number of i, in other words it reports
the position of a particular element within an overall set.
For these kind of question, I suggest to look at GAMS’s online
documentation, available through
http://www.gams.com/docs/document.htm
especially, the GAMS Users Guide and the Expanded GAMS Guide written by
Bruce McCarl.
